You know, it feels like we've been shoveling HALLOWEEN 2 news down your throats these past few weeks. With a release date only a few months away Rob Zombie is very hard at work in getting things going with the sequel to his 're-imagining.' But no, I'm not here to tell you about HALLOWEEN 2. Instead I'm here to give you all an update on Zombie's other upcoming movie... no, not TYRANNOSAURUS REX either....

I'm talking about THE HAUNTED WORLD OF EL SUPERBEASTO! It's been quite a while since we've heard any news on SUPERBEASTO, and the film is still awaiting a release date. But what we do have is a rating! And suprise surprise... it's rated R! The MPAA recently pegged SUPERBEASTO with the R rating for 'strong crude and sexual content throughout, nude graphics, language, violence and gore.' Awesome. You mean nude graphics like the one below? Works for me!

SUPERBEASTO sports a huge voice cast including Rosario Dawson, Paul Giamatti, Danny Trejo, Clint Howard, Sheri Moon Zombie, John Di Maggio, Bill Moseley, Dee Wallace, Sid Haig, Harland Williams, Geoffrey Lewis, and Brian Posehn among others. THE HAUNTED WORLD OF EL SUPERBEASTO follows the adventures of El Superbeasto, a washed-up Mexican luchador, and his sultry sidekick and sister Suzi-X as they confront an evil villain by the name of Dr. Satan. The adventure, set in the mythic world of Monsterland, also has a character named Murray the robot. Keep it here for any Zombie updates, whether it be who'll be playing the dude in the background of the hallway scene in HALLOWEEN 2 or the actual release date for SUPERBEASTO!

Dread Central exclusive Alien Raiders commentary!**NOTE: This will be on top for a bit; new updates will be below!** Here at Dread Central we try and bring you goodies no one else can or will, up to and including asking filmmakers to do things just for us. Usually this means sending us a pic or two from their film that no one else has, but when we saw that Ben Rock’s excellent Alien Raiders was going to hit DVD without a commentary track from its director, we set out to do something about it.

And do something we did! Rock was more than happy to sit down with the film’s composer, Kays Alatrachki, and star Tom Kiesche to discuss how the film was made and how much fun they had making it exclusively for Dread Central readers! You’re not going to find this commentary anywhere else (unless Warner Bros. decides to include it on a future DVD release...) so get your iPod or MP3 player ready and get downloading using the links below!

Don’t worry about syncing, either; Rock and crew were kind enough to even provide a countdown so you know when to start up the film so you’re right there with them!
